PALS Course Description:
The Pediatric Advanced Life Support programs taught by Life Support Associates follow the American Heart Association’s Core Curriculum as recommended in the 2005 Core Curriculum. Recommended changes are constantly updated at each course. Interactive teaching workshops feature hands on experience. New 2008 AHA teaching methodology will be used by the instructors to assist participants to successfully complete the course. We believe that you will like the changes in the course.
Objectives:
Successful participants will be able to demonstrate the ability to utilize the recommendations of the A.H.A.’s current guidelines.
Prerequisites:
The current PALS Manual is Required by the American Heart Association. A CPR for Healthcare Provider card is recommended and a working knowledge of basic arrhythmia interpretation skills is advised prior to attending a PALS course. The PALS Pretest Assessment must be completed prior to the course.
Completion Requirement:
Receipt of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider Card requires the participant to successfully complete all A.H.A. performance workshops adhering to A.H.A. guidelines. Course participants not able to complete the course schedule in the time frames specified may be asked to complete the course at another date or location. Please arrive on time!
Completion Certificates and A.H.A. Cards:
Course Completion Certificates will be issued - on site - at the completion of the course to those participants who have completed all requirements. A.H.A. - PALS course completion cards will be mailed from the office on the day following completion of the course.
Completion Guarantee:
It is the goal of our instructors to help all participants successfully complete the course. No organization can guarantee that you will pass the course. A certain amount of preparation must be done by the participant. We guarantee that you may repeat the course, if necessary, at no charge. Course completion must be scheduled and completed within three months of the original course date. We want you to succeed.
